Principal's Message

Welcome to Glenora School!

Located in one of Edmonton’s most historic neighborhoods, Glenora Elementary School serves Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.  Glenora staff and students focus on literacy and numeracy in their classrooms, which are interwoven throughout Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science.  Students at Glenora challenge themselves daily to think critically about their subject areas and about the world around them.  Students actively participate in a multitude of challenging classroom activities. The International Baccalaureate Middle years Programme (IBMYP) is implemented in Grade 6; setting students up for success whether they pursue IBMYP in grade 7 or join other educational programs.  Glenora students embody the IBMYP learner profile which describes students as inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.

Alongside the core subjects, Glenora students participate in accomplished Art and Music programs from Kindergarten to Grade 6 and a comprehensive French program from Grades 1-6.

Glenora exemplifies excellence and lives up to our motto “Wisdom gives you Wings” as we work to challenge ourselves academically, physically, emotionally and artistically; fostering an environment where teaching and learning flourish.
